The City of
McDonough will be hosting the annual “Ice Cream on the Square” July
4 beginning at 7:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and enjoy the
ice cream, music and other activities. The winners of the storefront
decorations will also be announced that night. Bring your family and
friends and enjoy a great night of celebration to begin the holiday
weekend.
Due to the open
house for the elementary, middle and high schools of Henry County,
the end of summer ice-cream party and magic show scheduled for Thursday,
July 31, at the Hampton Library has been changed to Tuesday, July 29,
from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. For any questions or more information, please

Henry County High School
Class of 1958 is holding their class reunion soon. They are trying to
locate the following classmates: Johnny Leonard Brooks, Dion Gene
Ireland, Alice Elizabeth Lilly, Sondra Nell Miller Bryan and Carol Lois

Henry County Soccer
Association summer soccer camps are available: July 14-18 or July
28-Aug. 1 for all ages. The cost range is $60-$150. Please register on
their website at www.hcsa.org. On-site
registration will be held at the Soccerplex in McDonough, located at 140
Henry Parkway, on July 12, 19, and 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Please bring a photo-copy your child's birth certificate to register.
On-line registrants may mail their birth certificates to P. O. Box 2788,
McDonough, Ga. 30253. No registration forms will be accepted by mail.
Limited scholarships are available in all age groups. Scholarship forms
can also be found on our website and must be accompanied by all
documents listed to be considered.
The Henry County
Kiwanis holds their meetings every Tuesday from noon to 1:00 p.m. at
the Golden Corral on Jonesboro Road in McDonough. The Henry County
Kiwanis Club is a Community Service Organization. Our efforts are
dedicated to benefiting the Henry County community. We welcome new
members who are interested in participating in our wide ranging

Dog obedience
classes are offered through the Henry County Recreation Department
on Tuesday nights at Nash Farm Battlefield from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Cost

McDonough is having Cow Appreciation Day on Friday, July 11. If you
wear a cow costume, you will receive a free meal. For more information,

The McDonough
Presbyterian Church will sponsor an American Red Cross Blood Drive
on Monday, July 14, at the church located at 427 McGarity Road in
McDonough. The drive will last from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. The public is
invited and encouraged to give. For an appointment call Rick Berry at
